About Us

Dr. Nishi Mehdiratta is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin where she received a bachelor’s degree in biology. She subsequently obtained her doctorate in optometry from the University of Houston College of Optometry. During her time at the Balboa Naval Hospital in San Diego, CA, she developed extensive knowledge in the diagnosis and management of anterior segment ocular diseases, where she developed a particular interest in the treatment of the various forms of dry eye syndrome.

Dr. Nishi focuses on holistic patient care and an emphasis on the marriage of dry eye syndrome and the concurrent aesthetic benefits these treatments provide. Her particular areas of interest in ocular surface disease management include post-LASIK-induced dry eye, peri-or postmenopausal dry eye, and dry eye induced by medications such as chemotherapy. At Luxe Eye Care, Dr. Nishi provides a customized dry eye treatment plan tailored to each patient’s specific needs.

Dr. Nishi is currently a Key Opinion Leader for Lumenis, a global leader in the field of energy based-medical solutions, where she helps to educate fellow physicians on the diagnosis and management of ocular surface disease. Dr. Nishi is passionate about ensuring that each of her patients is given comprehensive care to obtain long-lasting relief from their symptoms.
