Dr. Nishi Mehdiratta
Dr. Nishi Mehdiratta is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin where she received a bachelor’s degree in biology. She subsequently obtained her doctorate in optometry from the University of Houston College of Optometry. During her time at the Balboa Naval Hospital in San Diego, CA, she developed extensive knowledge in the diagnosis and management of anterior segment ocular diseases, where she developed a particular interest in the treatment of the various forms of dry eye syndrome.
Dr. Nishi opened Luxe Eye Care in Houston, TX in 2016, with a focus on holistic patient care and an emphasis on the marriage of dry eye syndrome and the concurrent aesthetic benefits these treatments provide. Her particular areas of interest in ocular surface disease management include post-LASIK-induced dry eye, peri-or postmenopausal dry eye, and dry eye induced by medications such as chemotherapy. At Luxe Eye Care, Dr. Nishi provides a customized dry eye treatment plan tailored to each patient’s specific needs.
Dr. Nishi is currently a Key Opinion Leader for Lumenis, a global leader in the field of energy based-medical solutions, where she helps to educate fellow physicians on the diagnosis and management of ocular surface disease. Dr. Nishi is passionate about ensuring that each of her patients is given comprehensive care to obtain long-lasting relief from their symptoms.
Dr. Deanna Leong
Dr. Deanna Leong is a Therapeutic Optometrist and Optometric Glaucoma Specialist who practices in Houston, Texas. She grew up in nearby Sugar Land and received her Bachelor of Science in Neurobiology from the University of Texas at Austin, and subsequently received her Doctorate in Optometry from the University of Houston. During her clinical rotations, she trained at La Nueva Casa de Amigos, primarily serving low-income families, and the Katy Veterans Affairs Outpatient Clinic. Dr. Leong has focused on diagnosing and managing a variety of conditions, including but not limited to diabetic/hypertensive retinopathy, glaucoma and nerve palsies.
In addition to the above medical conditions, Dr. Leong also emphasizes on providing care for low vision patients and fitting gas permeable and scleral lenses. She has certification for applying CRT lenses for Orthokeratology, a specialty fit contact lens designed to control myopia progression.
In her spare time, she enjoys practicing yoga and creating greeting cards.
